My Magic Mobility Extreme 8 off-road wheelchair just turned five – and what a ride it’s been.
This thing has taken me through beaches, muddy trails, forests, music festivals, and everything in between. If it looked gnarly, I went for it. If there was sand, mud, or mayhem, the Extreme 8 handled it like a tank.
Just gave it a well-earned service. Big shoutout to Richard from All Terrain Wheelchairs for coming out and giving it the full works. He popped the top off – and a giant ball of dried mud fell out of the front wheel. Honestly looked like I’d smuggled half a mountain in there. Sand everywhere. He cleaned it up, greased the gears, swapped the batteries – now it’s good as new and ready for more chaos.
Next mission: the Great Glen Way – 79 miles from Inverness to Fort William. All off-road, through wild Highland terrain. I’ll also be teaming up with the amazing crew at Anyone Can, using their accessible speedboat support when the trail gets too rough. Boat + chair = unstoppable.
To celebrate the journey so far, I’ve dropped a few photos from the past five years below – some of the best moments, muddiest spots, and wildest views.
The adventure’s not slowing down any time soon.
Let’s roll.
